Hi! I’m Rachel. I recently graduated with a chemical engineering degree, moved to Michigan for a job, and got engaged to the love of my life, Ethan. I write about my attempts at DIY projects, the transition from college student to “real person,” and my experience in striving for a healthy and happy life.
What’s with the name Element 37? Are you trying to sound like a salon/studio/boutique?
I can see why you’d think that. The element on the periodic table with the atomic number 37 is Rubidium (Rb). RB happens to be the initials of my first and last name, at least until I get married in 2017. I’m a nerd, so it seemed cool to use chemistry when choosing a name for my blog.
Rubidium is a highly reactive alkali metal. It’s mainly used in laboratory settings, but rubidium nitrate is sometimes used in fireworks to give off a red-violet color.
